Hiatus

…I’m putting this blog on hiatus in order to properly organize business and personal photography as separate entities. New plans will be worked up and new websites will be created. I won’t be doing major updates on this blog aside from project 365 and iphone gallery photos. Please standby…

Photoshoot: Jennifer Lamb

This past Tuesday I had the pleasure of photographing a great model and friend, Jennifer Lamb. We took the shoot around the University of Toronto Erindale campus and Erindale park. Fall colours provided beautiful backgrounds and temperature to work with. You can view her Model Mayhem profile here.

Anti-Cancer, Photography, and White Snow.

Yesterday, a few minutes after 12:00PM, the UTM Undergraduate Commerce Society (UCS), and UTM Women Centre hosted their annual Fair For Hope. The event acted as a fundraiser for cancer research by asking for bids on pie-ing the faces of council executives and the president of the UTM student union. Unfortunately, due to a midterm that I had to do, I couldn’t capture the entire event. The photographs below are those taken during the pie event. The short while I was there, the event generate quite a large donation which will be sent to assist in the research for a cure for cancer.

Henry’s, a Canadian camera store is hosting their bi-annual digital imaging show at the Toronto International Centre on October 15, 16, and 17. The show is playing host to all major brand names in the photographic world such as Nikon, Canon, Amplis, Tiffen, and more. Seminars are being held to improve shooting, lighting, and editing techniques. For any photographic or imaging profession/enthusiast, I strongly recommend going. Tickets are being sold at the door for $20.00; children under 12 are free. For more information, please visit henrys.ca/show.

I’m sure that some readers will agree with me that this not-white weather has gone on for long enough. Bring on the Snow! This weekend, October 14-17, at the Toronto Better Living Centre is the annual Ski, Snowboard & Travel Show. Buy equipment, sell old equipment, view concepts and just meet with the industry‘s professionals about how to get the most out of your powdery holiday this year. Tickets are sold for $17 (for adults) at the door. For more info visit the torontoskishow.ca.

In a last minute update, the photographs from my iPhone gallery have been reuploaded and more to come.

That’s all for now. See you all later and on the slopes (wishful thinking and a bit early, but the sooner the better!).

Urbanite: Urban Creeping

On the way home from classes yesterday I saw a really great shot off in the distance so I hiked my way over through a field of weeds in between residential complexes, buildings, and an all new plaza sprouting out from the Earth. After getting the shot, I decided to climb down and just have a walk along the Mississauga Creek.

News!

Ah, some news. The month of October is a busy one! No, not because of Thanksgiving, Halloween, or even classes. University of Toronto, Mississauga’s onslaught of charity events and burst of humanitarianism is what is making this month so busy! October 19th is the Fair For Hope: a celebration of victories over cancer, commemoration of the victims of cancer, and encouragement to those still being affected by cancer. I’m looking very forward to having the privilege of photographing the main “head shaving” event, although its disappointing that I won’t be able to capture then entire event due to a midterm the same day at the same time.

In addition to the fair, UTM is playing host to “A Day In Her Shoes”: a charity event involving men carrying on their business in high heels. This initiative is not to payback women’s aching feet, but is to focus awareness to female and child abuse through out the world.

As a smaller update, I picked up some new equipment so I’m really looking forward to shooting more often.

All flickr photos will be erased until they are resized and remarked.

An early morn
